96 points Georgina Hindle (Decanter): "Very perfumed: violets, irises and blackcurrants, supple and lively. Lifted and bright, with fruit and acidity to the fore. Lean and streamlined, tannic structure is there but no sign this has been pushed too far. Not trying too hard, clean and refined with noticeable acidity. A lovely wine. Drinking Window: 2024-2040. (4/5/24)"

95 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "Giscours seemed to pull the rabbit out of the hat in both the 2009 and 2010 vintages, so I am happy to have a few bottles of each in the cellar. The 2010 still has a great colour for ten years of age, dark with a dusty black cherry hue, surrounded by a matt garnet rim. The nose is evolved, a little dusty, rather peppery too, with sweet notes of currants, pressed flowers, toast and dried black olives, along with some bay leaf and green peppercorn freshness. On the palate it feels texturally generous, but there is still a dry and savoury energy to it, and it is even a little peppery like the nose. Swirled within are dark and savoury flavours, threads of currants, soot and violets, but it is the density and substance, built upon the firm structure of the 2010 vintage, which has the most impact here. With time it shows more generosity, texture too, the wine evolving in the decanter over many hours. It finishes long, where it shows a dry grip of tannins which develop a prominence here. This is very good, but it is still rather primary and feels a touch aloof. This could do with a little more time. Hold for now. The declared alcohol is 13.5%. (Oct 2021)"

95 points James Suckling: "Aromas of mint and currants with hints of fresh herbs. Then turns to plum jam. Full body, with well-integrated tannins and pretty fruit. Long and caressing. This is really outstanding. Better in 2017. (2/2/13)"

95 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "Giscours shows an initial character of great style and elegance. The shining fruit and concentrated tannins follow, making it both a seductive wine and one with a long-term future. (Feb 2013)"

94 points Falstaff: "Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle edge brightening, smoky-roasted cherry fruit, delicate licorice and orange zest, tobacco nuances in the background. Juicy, lively, elegant body, fine cherry fruit, pleasant tannins, fresh structure, red berry aftertaste, good length, some nougat in the finish, extract-sweet aftertaste, secure future potential. (3/21/14)"

93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "Tasted at the Château Giscours vertical, the 2010 Château Giscours is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot picked between September 27 and October 14. I contrasted this directly against the superb 2009, but I still maintain that this has the upper hand, albeit in a different style. The aromatics are very focused with black fruit, violets, fig and mineral scents that are very well defined. But you need patience - this is not as immediate as the previous vintage. The palate delivers, delivers and delivers brilliant delineation and poise, more freshness than it knows what to do with, an intensity that is supremely well focused and length in the mouth. There is even a dab of mint chocolate making a surprise appearance on the aftertaste. This is a very impressive Giscours. Tasted June 2015. Drink: 2018-2040. (7/28/16)"
