95 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Palate): "Dark fruits, tobacco leaf, savory herbs, and smoked game. Supple on the palate, it is sophisticated and confident, leading with savory notes of charcuterie and smoked game. Dense and firm tannins are in harmony with the gleaming acidity, which carries the medium-long finish. Drink: 2025-2040. (Jun 2025)"

94 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "Ettore Germano specializes in Barolo from Serralunga d'Alba. The wine that casts the widest net is the 2021 Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d'Alba. With 15,000 bottles made, it opens to a dark color, powerful texture and a richness that supports dark fruit, black licorice, toasted aniseed and candied orange. There is a tart note of pomegranate as well. The wine definitely hits higher on the Nebbiolo intensity meter. Drink: 2026-2040. (Jun 2025)"

94 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "Good bright red. Flowers, sweet spices, sandalwood, and macerated berries on the nose. Rich dense and slightly tactile, with inky, bittersweet flavours of dark and red berries, crushed rocks and licorice. This is a beautiful Commune wine that starts out with noteworthy fruitiness then finishes long and spicy with an inviting bittersweet twinge. Very concentrated classic commune-level Barolo. Well done and a steal at this price. Drinking window: 2027-2039. (May 2025)"

93 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "Crushed raspberry notes mingle with delicate red flowers, think wild violets and alpine blooms rather than roses. The aromatics promise fruit, but the palate pivots decisively toward savory territory with leather, dried herbs, and that classic Serralunga earthiness. Tannins announce themselves with authority, not harsh or aggressive, but unmistakably present and balanced, gripping the palate in that distinctly structured way that defines this commune. Drink from 2026. (Nov 2025)"

93 points James Suckling: "A Barolo focused on fragrance and juiciness. Bright dried cherries, strawberries and fresh flowers, together with touches of citrus and pepper. Velvety and medium- to full-bodied with delicate, crisp acidity and a tight mid-palate. Savory and slightly austere finish, yet well balanced and approachable overall. More or less drinkable now, but best from 2026. (1/22/25)"

93 points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "The 2021 Barolo Del Comune Di Serralunga D'Alba pours a deep ruby red color and is spicy on the nose, with notes of licorice, black cherries, cracked pepper, and toasted rosemary. It has fantastic and potent energy on the palate, with a saturating feel and medium to full body, filling the palate with ripe tannin, refreshing acidity, and a powerful gravitas of Serralunga character. It’s only going to benefit from another year or so in bottle. Drink: 2026-2040. (May 2025)"

91 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "The estate’s village Barolo gathers up younger vines averaging 15 years old from some of Serralunga’s most esteemed sites. Cerretta forms the backbone, with Prapò and Lazzarito making smaller contributions. It boasts ample freshness, showing a youthful edginess rather than the mature or rich fruit tones of some of its peers. Spicy peppercorn and fennel meet wild strawberry and sour red cherry in this linearly drawn example. Crisp, chiselled tannins are an appropriate match. It should provide invigorating drinking over the next decade. Drinking Window: 2025-2033. (Jan 2025)"

90 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Barolo is a classy, polished wine with unusually round edges for a young Serralunga Barolo. Sweet red cherry, pipe tobacco, blood orange and spice all take shape in the glass. Soft contours wrap it all up. This stylish, approachable Barolo is all charm. Drink: 2025-2031 (Sep 2025)"
