94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Domaine Gaunoux Rugiens Bas 2013 is also outstanding and really is showing fine depth and early dimension in this vintage. Like all of the 2013s chez Gaunoux, the Rugiens Bas really shows great purity and precision on both the nose and palate, with the bouquet offering up a nascently complex constellation of cherries, beetroot, citrus zest, lovely minerality, a touch of currant leaf and a topnote of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows lovely intensity at the core, with ripe tannins, fine focus and grip and a long, tangy and beautifully balanced finish. This will be stellar in the fullness of time. 2023-2065. (Mar/Apr 2016)"
