94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2007 Rugiens Bas from Domaine Gaunoux is not far behind the beautiful 2008 Grands Epenots and is a beautiful bottle of Pommard in its own right. The bouquet offers up a blossoming blend of cherries, raspberries, orange zest, gamebird, stony minerality, roses and a lovely topnote of spices. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and transparent, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent focus and grip, moderate tannins and impressive length on the complex and perfectly balanced finish. This is perhaps as tad behind in its development than the 2008 Grands Epenots, but it too is starting to move towards its plateau and will be another outstanding wine with a bit more bottle age. 2018-2050. (Mar/Apr 2016)"
