93 points Patricio Tapia (Descorchados): "The tannat grown on granitic soils are usually somewhat fruitier than those grown on clay and limestone. They have finer tannins, as is the case with this one, which comes from a selection of Garzón's tannat vineyards in the area of the same name in Maldonado Bay. Light floral touches in a palate dominated by sweet red fruits and a bit of herbs. The body is intense, but not at all tiresome, and the finish is supported by mouth-watering acidity. (Jan 2023)"

92 points James Suckling: "Rich but fresh on the nose with a hint of cigar box to the blackberries, dark cherries and roasted spices. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate with firm, lightly chewy tannins and a juicy, flavorful center palate. Pretty long in the finish. Needs a year or two to let the tannins soften more. Try in 2025.
