89-91 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Billard opens in the glass with aromas of cassis, blackberries, peonies and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's supple and enveloping, with sweet, powdery tannins and succulent acids. (Jan 2023)"

89-91 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A fullish purple. Clearly ripe fruit here, almost heady. Medium full in the mouth, one of the riper wines I have tasted in 2021, with a saline touch behind the generous dark raspberry fruit. Light tannins as well to provide structure. Drink from 2025-2028. (Nov 2022)"

90 points CellarTracker.com community score.

Producer notes: "A tiny (0.26 ha / 0.64 ac!) parcel planted in 1987 within Brochon, between Champerriers and Clos de la Justice. The earliest ripening site in Gevrey, with deep, well-draining sandy soil. Organically farmed (Ecocert, 2019), with biodynamic methods. 20-30% whole cluster, ambient yeast fermentation with pumpovers and a few punch downs. Aged for 12-16 months in barrels (20% new). No fining, light filtration if necessary. 30-45 ppm total SO2 at bottling."
