'Top 100 Wines of 2010 (#8)' and 95 points Wine Spectator: " A generous Sangiovese, with loads of blackberry, dark cherry and berry on the nose and palate. Full, long and chewy. The new wood could stand to have a little less barley flavor, but the fruit is fabulous. Takes off on the finish. Gorgeous. Best after 2012. (10/31/10)"
95 points James Suckling: "Lots of ripe fruit with a smoky, meaty, bacon, and cherry character -- even dried mango and other fruits. Full and round tannins with bright acidity and an intense finish. Loads going on here. New wood is a little overpowering now but will come around wonderfully. Give it three to four years of bottle age still. (8/22/11)"
Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "The house Supertuscan, Flaccianello della Pieve '07, from a selection of the estate's best sangiovese, is superlative, presenting warmly powerful and richly concentrated. The nose is a triumph of red and black berry fruit in a medley of Mediterranean scrub, coffee and chocolate while the palate has lots of body, although it will need time to expand and reach its peak. (2011)"
Wall Street Journal: "One of the finest wines of Toscana...characterized by fruity notes, but also leather and hide...notes of pepper and pipe tobacco on the finish. (11/20/10)"
