94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "This powerful, thrilling wine shows pronounced, ripe aromas of mirabelle plum, nectarine and green apple, with a strong underpinning of flinty minerality and smoky reduction. The texture is tightly wound and compact; it's substantial, but not heavy, carrying the wine to a marvellously long finish. The grapes are from 2.24ha in the lieux-dits Pied d'Aloup, Côte de Bréchain (planted 1936), and Chapelot, fermented in a combination of tank and cask, ageing now on the lees prior to bottling. Ideally wait five years before opening and drink over the next 30. Drinking Window: 2028-2050. (9/23/24)"
94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Reserved and serious, this is crystalline in fruit purity. Star fruit, yellow plums and brine make this a thoroughly gastronomic wine. It hums with pent-up tension, and it could certainly use a few years' slumber in the cellar. It is a "true" Montée de Tonnerre as it comes from all three sectors. (2025)"
94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Another point of reference: Montée de Tonnerre, both crystalline and robust, a wine full of muscle, with square shoulders. (2026)"
94 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2026).
91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Lemon and lime in colour with a concentrated sunny but not exotic nose, plums not peaches. This embryonic Chablis tightens up quite considerably on the palate, reinforcing the sense of notable intensity. A light marmalade note that is not unpleasant infuses the finish. (Jun 2024)"
93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 2.24 ha holding that is divided between Pied d'Aloup, Côte de Bréchain and Chapelot). There is reasonably good typicity present on the more floral aromas of poached pear, lemon zest and shellfish-scented nose. There is again fine volume and mid-palate density to the delicious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a dry but not really austere finale. This beautifully balanced and surprisingly powerful effort could use better depth so at least a few years of cellaring should be beneficial. In short, this is lovely and promising. Drink: 2031+. (Oct 2025)"
91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is a step up from the slightly underwhelming 2022 last year. Fine delineation, citrus-fresh with petrichor and a touch of peach skin. The palate is well balanced, and quite powerful though well focused. A keen line of acidity with more sapidity on the finish compared to the Vaillons. Persistent spiciness on the aftertaste. Recommended. Drink: 2026-2040. (Aug 2024)"
92 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$130 list] A rich version, laced with honeysuckle, peach, yellow plum and August meadow, plus a flash of cinnamon. This is balanced and charming, with a mineral undercurrent on the mouthwatering aftertaste. Drink now through 2032. 150 cases imported. (9/29/25)"
