93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru showed a little less reduction on the nose. It has attractive cranberry and tayberry scents and the 40% whole bunch imparts a subtle pepperiness. The delineation is fine. The palate is medium-bodied with finely interwoven tannins. It is very poised, with heightened mineralité here and a persistent finish that lingers. Quite classically styled, this is a Chambolle with oodles of panache. Drink:2027-2048. (Jan 2024)"

The Charmes has a firmer structure, from old vines that didn’t yield above 30 hl/ha. A more muscular style of Charmes, with slightly more tannins. Drink from 2020-2037. Tasted Dec 2024."

A restrained, elegant and airy nose is beautifully layered with its combination of red and dark raspberry, spice, lavender and violet. There is a really lovely texture to the tension-filled and well-detailed medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the balanced and beautifully long finish that would also benefit from developing more depth.
