95 points Wine Spectator: "Immense and expressive, offering broad, expansive layers of wild berry and blackberry, fresh, loamy earth, pepper, spice and nutmeg, with a rich mouthfeel that lets the berry fruit fan out and gain nuance and complexity. 220 cases made. (2/28/10)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Exotic, rich and beguiling, the 2007 Syrah Quarzo opens with compelling aromatics. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, the 2007 is still very, very young. Sweet tobacco, incense and pomegranate make an appearance, but the 2007 remains surprisingly primary, with little in the way of aromatic development for a wine of its age. Layers of pure fruit and texture build to the intense finish. Drink: 2015-2027. (Nov 2013)"
