95 points Antonio Galloni: "The 2019 Faurie de Souchard is fabulous, just as it was from barrel. There is a feeling of exuberance in the 2019 that is absolutely irresistible. Succulent dark cherry, mocha, cedar, tobacco, licorice, dried herbs and menthol are all amplified in the glass. Rich and resonant, with terrific freshness, Faurie de Souchard is without question one of the under the radar gems of 2019. Drink 2024-2039. (01/22)."

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A bright, juicy, classic Saint-Emilion with loads to love, the 2019 Château Faurie De Souchard sports a deep plum color to go with a great nose of black raspberries, mulberries, plums, spice box, dried flowers, and subtle oak. This all carries to a beautiful, medium to full-bodied, elegant wine revealing good density and length, building yet polished tannins, and a great finish. It's going to need 4-5 years of bottle age and have two decades of longevity. Drink 2026-2047. (04/11/22)."

92-94 points Wine Doctor: "A fantastic colour here, a deep black tulip hue, shimmering but with great density as well, out to a black-cherry rim. Aromatically it is dark and reticent, with rather fleeting impressions of soot, black cherry, currant and fresh juniper leaf. A very poised stance on the palate, showing a taut and linear frame through the middle, filled out here with crushed currant and black pepper, allowing some energy to come through in the middle too. There is dark and sinewy fruit, a cleanly defined palate with tightly grained ripe tannins within the linear and almost salty tension of the vintage. Gripped and lively, with a long finish of polished grip. Good. (06/20)."

93 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Faurie de Souchard opens with fragrant kirsch, rose oil, and redcurrant scents, leading to warm plums and star anise at the core. Medium to full-bodied, firm, and grainy, it has a lively backbone supporting the opulent fruit, finishing with a minty kick. Drink 2024-2042 (May 2022)”

93 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Dark ruby garnet with purple reflections and a delicately ochre rim. Dark forest berries mark the nose, with a delicate herbal-spicy background. Black cherries, a touch of precious wood and a hint of orange zest also show. Juicy and elegant on the palate with a pleasant fruit sweetness at the heart. Medium complexity, with ripe tannins and some chocolate on the finish. Cherry and mineral aftertastes round things off. (06/15/20)." 93 points James Suckling: "Dark plums, dark cherries, dried flowers and oak spices on the nose. Full-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Rich, creamy and fruity with a silky texture and chocolatey character. Flavorful and ripe. Drink from 2025. (01/14/22)."

92 points Jane Anson (Inside Bordeaux): "Powerful, knitted down, dark fruits. This is really good, old school St Emilion, and seriously closed down right now with bristling tannins, but with poise and confidence. As it opens, you get olive tapenade and black truffle alongside redcurrant and blackcurrant fruits that put an emphasis on acidity. Tasted twice. Dassault Wine Estates. (10/22/21)."
