96 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "From ungrafted vines planted in the 1930s, the single-plot 2019 Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben #8 Gisela is highly refined and delicate on the pure and flinty nose that displays very fine slate aromas and delicate fruit. Generously round and salty-piquant on the sophisticated palate, this is a sublime grand cru in the filigreed yet intense and sustainable Kabinett style. The sweetness is moderate and perfectly balanced by the body and the pervasive mineral background. The 2019 is another fascinating Gisela with an enormously long, pure, piquant and salty finish. 7.5% alcohol is 1.5% less than the 2018 contained. Tasted in May 2020. Drink: 2027-2060. (Aug 2020)"

95+ points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 08 20. The 2019er Euchariusberg Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben Gisela (the reference to this internal cask name is provided in small print on the label) was harvested at 84° Oechsle in a parcel still planted with 70-80-year-old un-grafted vines in the prime Gross Schock sector of the vineyard which was classified in the highest category on the old taxation maps, and was fermented down to barely fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (approx. 45 g/l). It offers a breathtaking nose made of subtle scents of juicy white peach, apple, as well as more than a hint of pear, some spices, and fine herbs. The wine is outstandingly pure and elegant on the palate, and leaves a gorgeously airy feel of fresh but ripe fruits, minerals, and spices in the long and mouthwatering finish. The acidity is present but ready to be absolutely splendidly integrated at maturity. The after-taste is all about subtlety, intensity, and nuanced precision. As fascinating as the wine may be now, it will only truly shine after some bottle aging, when it will have developed all its nuances. It could then well exceed our ratings if the freshness keeps the upper hand. What a wine! 2027-2049. (Jun 2020)"
