Plenty of power, structure and concentration on the medium- to full-bodied palate, but for this appellation the ample tannins are remarkably fine. Rugiens is Pommard's most prestigious vineyard, although quality varies as one traverses it from the upper to lower sector. Faiveley purchased its half-hectare plot in 2007; the wines are currently 71 years old.
