96 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "For Flous, this is the wine to age. It is big-boned and dense for sure. Yet its tannins are so refined, especially among Mazis, that it feels rather accessible. Still, it would be a shame to miss what this grand cuvée will offer. Today there is tobacco, savory spice, wild cherries and mulberries. Faiveley has five parcels here that add up to just over 1.5 ha. (2023)"

96 points Sarah Marsh, MW (The World of Fine Wine): "Dark, woodland aroma, with glimmering highlights. Vigorous attack to the fullish palate, which is deep, rather compact, and layered with earthy and graphite minerality. Plenty of vitality on the finish, which pushes through very convincingly. 2027–35+. (Issue 79; 2023)"

95 points Bruce Sanderson (Wine Spectator): "[$625 list] Cherry, boysenberry and floral flavors are the main themes, along with an earthy, feral note, shaded by sandalwood and sweet oak spices. This red is taut and linear as it plays out on the compact finish, and though difficult to see where it's going, this is intense and long. Best from 2026 through 2045. 50 cases imported. (11/30/23)"

95 points CellarTracker.com community score.

93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2021 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a touch of reduction but there is more complexity vis-a-vis the Latricières, a mélange of red and black fruit, sous-bois and pressed flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, well balanced, a liberal sprinkling of black pepper with a nicely focused and quite structured finish (for the vintage). Very fine. Drink: 2025-2045. (Jan 2023)"

93-95 points/'Very Fine+,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Mazis is showing very well indeed, with a generous, juicy, intense core. it shows fine hedonistic intensity and liveliness, and is really singing. Drink from 2032. (12/19/22)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "A palish mid crimson. The nose was slow to come out but soon a fair volume of strawberry fruit begins to emerge, suggesting a depth of fruit behind. More alpine strawberry and pinpoint raspberry, then more tannins and a very peppery finish with good persistence of the little red fruits. This could be in brooding mode, and deserve more in due course. Drink from 2029-2038. (Nov 2022)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Deeper and more structured than the ethereal Latricières, the 2021 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru reveals aromas of red berries, orange zest, forest floor and a discreet touch of toasty new oak, followed by a full-bodied, layered and impressively concentrated palate. (Jan 2023)"

91-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from both Mazis Haut and Bas where the two parcels total a remarkable 1.20 ha). A touch of green tea character sits atop the aromas of plum, cherry and more prominent sauvage nuances. There is a really lovely mouthfeel to the suave, round and powerful medium-bodied flavors that also display evident minerality on the slightly more complex but noticeably more persistent finale. At least some patience will be necessary as this is quite tightly wound. Drink: 2033+. (Jan 2023)"
