97 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Exotic, dark and turbo-charged, this wine is wound up with sweet black plums and blackberries, anise and forest floor. It's definitely a wine for those that like bolder, chunkier Pinots, whether you drink it soon or wait a few decades. Speaking of which, Jérôme feels strongly that it is best to wait ten years before trying this wine. For the less patient, I implore you to wait at least six or seven years! 2026-42."

94-96 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Erwan loves the Mazis this year. The colour is a full mid purple. The nose is a little bit more blockbuster, and certainly the palate offers a stunning raft of fruit built around a very controlled structure. This is a wine for the long term. (Nov 2021)"

95 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Notes of lavender and incense in the very structured Mazis-Chambertin, with tactile relief, whose advanced ripeness makes the fruit more prominent, with a tannic structure that dominates. It could harmonize with ageing. (2023)"

93-95(+) points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is deep and brooding, unfurling in the glass with aromas of blackberries, peonies, loamy soil and sweet soil tones. Full-bodied, ample and velvety, its concentrated core of fruit is framed by rich, powdery tannins and succulent acids. It's a worthy follow-up to the brilliant 2019. (Jan 2022)"

93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru is not quite as expressive as the Latricières on the nose with blueberry and wild strawberry fruit, violet and crushed rock scents, the latter becoming more prominent with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, powerful and saturated in style, fleshy but nicely controlled on the finish. This should age very well in bottle - stylish and suave. Drink: 2027-2050. (Dec 2021)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from both Mazis Haut and Bas where the two parcels total a remarkable 1.20 ha). A discreet though still easily perceptible dollop of wood sets off very earthy aromas of various dark berries, humus and old leather. The rich, powerful and seriously concentrated big-bodied flavors possess impressive size, weight and power along with good minerality on the attractively textured and hugely long finale where the only nit is again, a hint of warmth. Drink: 2037+. (Jan 2022)"
