96-98 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Bright clean pale yellow. Immediately there is more weight of fruit compared to the Faiveley 2020 Bienvenues-Bâtard, more power in a good way here. The class absolutely explodes on the palate, white fruit with just a little additional ripeness, all the weight in the world but disciplined. Very long indeed. (Nov 2021)"

97 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "This is an about-face from the Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet. It is unapologetically creamy and sumptuous with a near gluttonous concentration of lushly ripe orchard fruit accompanied by cinnamon dusted banana bread. Yet, there is a strong current of bustling acidity providing refreshment. These vines were planted in 1985 and 1997 and purchased by Faiveley in 2008. 2025-40. (2022)"

94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a very well-defined, quite mineral-driven bouquet with touches of white chocolate and even a hint of marron glacées percolating through the citrus fruit. The palate is extremely well balanced, but tight and focused, good depth, quite creamy towards the finish. Very difficult not to swallow this now, but it will age very well in bottle. Excellent. Drink: 2025-2045. (Dec 2021)"

95 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The aromas of ripe apple, butter and honey all stem from the natural richness of Bâtard in conjunction with the heat of the year. Abandon yourself to hedonism and enjoy. Picked on the 20th of August, this 0.35ha plot at the northern (Puligny) end of Bâtard was acquired in 2008 from Jean-Pierre Monnot. Faiveley used all its knowledge of canopy management to avoid over-ripeness. The wine is certainly rich, but many will appreciate this. Drinking Window: 2025-2050. (Nov 2021)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Planted at the same time as the last – long rows, one half is Bâtard the other half of the rows are Bienvenues. More airy and complex but without the textural aromatic depth of the last wine. Ooh – but that’s great – wide-screen panorama of flavour here, extra complexity and a little accent of salinity too. Finishing with a faint dryness- the ‘Papa’ says Jerome – and indeed. A great wine – but if can take only one, it’s going to be the Charlemagne this year. (Dec 2021)"
