96 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Welcome to the dark side of riesling that a bunch of German producers have already begun exploring, but for most wine drinkers is unknown. Still embryonic, this extraordinary wine has enormous flinty character and Mirabelle plum fruit on the medium-bodied palate. Enormous power and minerality in the expansive yet super-focused finish. Whatever you do, put this in a large glass of the kind you’d use for a great pinot noir. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drinkable now, but best from 2025. Screw cap. (Jul 2024)"

95 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "From late-harvested (and ripened) grapes from the Krone and a little bit of Kapellenberg, the 2023 Lorch is deep, pure and intense on the citrusy and slatey-savory nose. Complex, full-bodied and powerful on the palate, a big (Bordeaux or Burgundy) glass is highly recommended for this cru. This is a refined, rich and powerful yet saline and crystalline, very elegant and defined Riesling with very fine tannins and finely crunchy minerals. It has a very long, tight and astringent but also salivating finish. This is another giant of the vintage. 13% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine in August 2024. Drink 2025-2050 (Oct 2024)"

93 points Anne Krebiehl MW (Vinous): "The 2023 Riesling Lorch is from steep, southwest-facing slate slopes. The nose is a seductive blend of all manner of green and yellow citrus: yellow grapefruit, lemon, lime and an alluring hint of still-green Seville orange. The palate has juiciness, fill and fluidity, but it’s absolutely framed by these juicy citrus notions. The body is slender and dry, swinging and vibrates with this aromatic zestiness. (Bone-dry) Drink 2024-2045 (Oct 2024)"

93 points Falstaff Guide: "Wonderfully fragrant on the nose, herbal savouriness, yellow apple, white peach, orange zest and a hint of wet stone. Finely chiseled sweetness on the palate, light phenolic notes, very well-balanced acidity, mineral savouriness, a little salt and a very attractive finish. (Nov 2024)"
