93 points Stuart Pigott (JamesSuckling.com): "Such a joyful and delicious dry riesling with a tidal wave of stone and citrus fruit, as well as berry and herbal notes. Long, succulent finish that says “drink me!”. Drink or hold. Screw cap. (9/23/21)"

92 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "From red soils but not only from the Frühlingsplätzchen, the 2020 Riesling Lenz is very clear, precise and floral on the refreshing pure and flinty/stony nose. Filigreed and juicy on the palate, this is a stimulating piquant and seriously mineral dry Riesling with terroir character. The juicy fruit is very delicate and will gain even more charm with bottle age. Just 11.5% alcohol with a serious degree of complexity. Tasted at the domain in July 2021. Drink: 2022-2045. (Sep 2021)"

92 points Yumi Liu (Terroir Sense): "Light yellow color. Fresh orange blossom aromas on the nose, with citrus, grapefruit peel and nectar on the palate, finishing with excellent ripeness, acidity, and residual sugar, all balanced and harmonious. Drinking window: 2024-2030. (6/21/24)"

90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Riesling 'Lenz' from Weingut Emrich-Schönleber is a touch lower in octane than the Estate Trocken bottling, tipping the scales at a svelte 11.5 percent alcohol. The wine really offers up lovely aromatic complexity in its blend of tart orange, dried flowers, lemongrass, a touch of wild yeasts, lovely minerality, lemon zest and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, complex and full-bodied, with a sweetness level that seems just a whisper above the threshold for official Trocken, good transparency and bounce, bright acids and a long, vibrant and beautifully balanced finish. I love the balance here. 2022-2045. (Jan/Feb 2022)"
