96 points James Suckling: "This wine is more restrained than fruity, with aromas of dried flowers, cinnamon, youthful red cherries, balsamic, earth and minerals. Full-bodied on the graceful and powerful palate, with super-polished tannins and refreshing acidity in the finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2027. (1/8/25)"

95 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and fleshy, this red boasts cherry, strawberry, earth and eucalyptus aromas and flavors. There's density but also vibrant acidity driving the lingering conclusion. Shows fine overall balance, with refined tannins. Best from 2029 through 2048. 445 cases made, 50 cases imported. (4/30/25) "

95 points Ian D'Agata Wine Review: "Big, even massive on the palate for a Barolo from the territory of Barolo, with a full-bodied personality and monolithic red fruit, tobacco and herb aromas and flavours. Every time I drink Einaudi’s Terlo I come away thinking that not all the site deserves a premier or grand cru status, but the Costa Grimaldi vineyard owned by Einaudi is instead the real deal, and this wine is excellent. Drinking window: 2029-2039 (Nov 2024)"

95 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2021 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi is already silky and glossy in texture with a beautiful entry to the palate. There is a long slide of cassis and wild cherry followed by soft violet, sweet almond and licorice. Those Terlo tannins are firm but not excessively so, and the wine's texture is poised to become ever-more silky in time. Drink: 2026-2045. (Jan 2025)"

95 points Kerin O'Keefe: "Blue flower, truffle, menthol, rhubarb and cedar aromas slowly take shape on the 2021 Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi. It’s full-bodied and polished, featuring ripe cherry, cranberry, star anise and blood orange accompanied by taut, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it well balanced. Drink: 2028–2036. (Feb 2025)"

94 points Raffaele Vecchione (WinesCritic.com): "Live and expressive, it shows a three-dimensional sensorial profile rich in white flowers, crunchy red notes of currants and cherries and mixed citrus fruits. Full body, soft tannins of excellent quality and a joyful and essential finish. Better from 2026. (Jan 2025)"

93+ points Audrey Frick (JebDunnuck.com): "[$105 list] The 2021 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi has a youthful saturated red/garnet color and an elegant and seductive profile, with delicate notes of sandalwood, cranberries, and incense, a hint of fresh leather coaxing as it opens. The palate comes to life with fantastic clarity to its ripe red fruit, with a medium-bodied frame, ripe tannins, and a rounded midpalate. It’s even through the finish and is likely going to improve with another year as it comes out of its shell. Drink: 2026-2040. (5/1/25)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2021 Barolo Terlo Vigna Costa Grimaldi is lifted and aromatic, with a good bit of the mineral nervosity that defines wines from this site. Chalk, mint, white pepper, iron and dried herbs lend notable complexity throughout. This is a decidedly taut, youthfully austere Barolo. Drink: 2027-2043. (Jan 2025)"

93 points Michaela Morris (Decanter): "On Terlo’s lower slope, right by the Barolo village, Costa Grimaldi was Einaudi’s first purchase in the denomination in the 1950s. Evoking small red berries, aromas take on darker tones of forest floor as well as spicy ginger and ginseng accents. This is elegantly weighted with just ripe, pleasantly astringent, tactile tannins merging with persistent flavours of raspberry seeds and pomegranate. Frisky and crunchy with plenty of energy, the finish lingers with touches of rosehip tea. Drinking Window: 2025-2034. (1/6/25)"
