Wine Spectator: "Spicy. Scotland's smallest stills make big, warm whiskies like this one, which offers overwhelming warmth. The peaty, nutty nose shows notes of caramel before opening up to licorice and blackberry on the palate, then finishing with bread dough and sharp cheese. Natural color. (2/28/11)"

Scotland's smallest distillery from independent bottler. A truly hand crafted malt, with a delicious aroma of sugared almonds and a hint of oloroso. The smooth, creamy, light malty taste is followed by a mellow, warming finish.

***/Recommended, F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "Pretty old gold/amontillado Sherry color; superb purity. First nosings pick up delightfully sweet notes of almond paste, nougat, and barley malt; delicate spice and confectioner elements emerge after additional aeration time; this is an ethereal bouquet of subtle charms. Entry is lithe, gently spiced and medium-sweet; midpalate is nearly buttery, gingerbread-like, spice cake-like, and elegant. Ends in a flurry of spice notes. (Sep 2009)"
