94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "Aux Etelois has produced a wine with a serious texture, a slightly austere but chiseled structure, vigorous and deep: it will need time to blossom. (2026)"

91-93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Etelois is beautiful, bursting with aromas of sweet cherries and berries mingled with rose petals, exotic spices and confit orange. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and suave, it's seamless and enveloping, with melting tannins and a pure, ethereal profile. As usual, this is one of the insiders' choices chez Duroché. (Jan 2025)"

91-93 points Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): "The part of Aux Etelois which is kept for this cuvée, the finger that sticks into Griotte-Chambertin, usually makes one barrel but in 2023 they were able to produce one 400-litrre egg and three barrels. Rich bright purple. The usual class on the nose from this not quite Griotte. Smoother, more harmonious, perhaps less tension at the back, but a lovely long raspberry and strawberry finish. Drink from 2028-2035. (Nov 2024)"

90-92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): " For the first time, the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Etelois is matured half in ceramic and half in traditional oak barrels. This has a finely poised bouquet with slightly darker fruit than the Jeunes Rois. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, a dash of white pepper and bay leaf. It has a more complex finish than the previous vintage. It is exquisite. Drink: 2025-2036. (Jan 2025)"
