93+ points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "Dark red cherries, plums, smoke, game, spices and new leather are some of the notes that take shape in the 2012 Pinot Noir Ryan Widdoes Vineyard. This cold, north-facing site planted with the Martini clone tends to produce Pinots with more savory characteristics as well plenty of underlying tannin. Those are exactly the qualites that come through here. The 2012 is undeniably attractive, but it could use also another year or so in bottle. Drink: 2016-2024. (Feb 2015)"
92 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "There is nothing at all bombastic or blustery about this bottling, and it, in fact, initially shows a bit of youthful reticence, but its sense of fine crafting and its marvelous fruity depth are evident from the very first sniff. It starts out luscious and slightly plush on entry and then firms without becoming stiff, and, while fairly full in body, it is exceptionally well-balanced and as lively as it is concentrated. It has the makings of a Pinot fit for the cellar, and we see a long lifeline ahead. (Feb 2015)"
'Very highly recommended' and 91 points California Grapevine: "Medium-light to medium ruby; attractive, forward, deep, Bing cherry and raspberry fruit aroma with hints of forest floor and sandalwood; medium body; rich, fleshy, nicely balanced, red fruit flavors with good depth and some suppleness in the mouthfeel; medium tannin; lingering aftertaste. Developed with airing in the glass. 14.3% alcohol; 386 cases; released September 2014. (Jan 2015)"
