It is fashioned from a selection of different clones and sees about 45% new French oak. Underbrush, cigar tobacco, blackberries, black cherries, plums and sassafras notes interwoven with Asian spices, damp earth and truffle are present in this super-complex, full-bodied, opulent Pinot Noir. The largest scaled, most structured and densest of the DuMOL 2012 Pinots, this beauty will be even better after several years of bottle age, and should keep for 15+ years. Drink: 2014-2030. A racy, perfumed wine, the 2012 hits all the right notes. Rose petal, mint, sweet oak, cinnamon, pomegranate and sweet red cherries are some of the notes that are laced into the striking finish. The Finn is another Pinot that is even better from bottle than it was from barrel.
