97 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (The Wine Independent): "The 2022 Chardonnay Cuvee HHS bursts with gregarious notes of fresh peaches, lemonade, lime cordial, and allspice followed by nuances of marzipan, beeswax, and lanolin. The medium-bodied palate is a wonderful vortex of typical Hyde citrusy steeliness and the orchard fruit flamboyance of Hudson, contained within an elegant medium-bodied package with a long, refreshing finish. Yum! This new wine is called HHS for Hudson / Hyde Selection, with 52% coming from the Hudson vineyard and 48% from Hyde. Alcohol 14.2%. Drink: 2026-2038. (6/26/24)"
96 points James Suckling: "This is about depth and expansion on the palate with a phenolic presence. Full-bodied and layered but not overwhelming, and always wild and fruity. Some brioche and apple pie. First vintage of Hudson Hyde Selection from DuMol, and hitting it just right. A blend of Hudson and Hyde vineyards, the two heavyweights of Carneros. Drinkable now but will age beautifully. (6/11/24)"
96 points Erin Brooks (Wine Advocate): "The Cuvée HHS is a brand new cuvée from Dumol. It's a compelling, rarely seen blend of two of Northern California's most celebrated vineyards: Hudson and Hyde. "We are sometimes lured by single vineyards," grape grower and partner Andy Smith says, "but blending is part of the craft of winemaking. Hyde is mineral and steel and Hudson is power and opulence. They make a good wine together." Forty-eight percent of the blend comes from Hyde Vineyard and was harvested on September 1, just before the record-breaking heat wave around Labor Day. Grapes from the eight-year-old, Montrachet-selection vines at Hudson were harvested on September 5, just after the heat began. The 2022 Chardonnay Cuvée HHS opens with well-integrated tones of matchstick before spicy peach, guava, baklava and exotic floral perfume burst from the glass. The medium-bodied palate is just as perfumed, offering kaleidoscopic layers of stone fruit, honey and spice. It has refreshing, rounded acidity, a kiss of phenolic texture and an extraordinarily long finish. This rare blend will likely be made for a few years before Smith and his team begin bottling Hudson on its own. If you can find even a single bottle of HHS, buy it! Just 625 cases were made. Drink: 2025-2040. (7/11/24)"
94 points Wine Spectator: "Shows lovely aromatics up front, including a touch of flint, honeysuckle and salted toffee, with generosity to the dense peach, apricot and salted, ripe melon flavors, plus drizzle of honey. All of these flavors sit on a fleshy and juicy frame, with plenty of intensity on the finish. Drink now through 2038. 625 cases made. (7/31/24)"
