Despite its aromatic flamboyance, on the palate the wine is controlled--even reserved--with immense concentration and a bottomless core, its tannins fine-grained but firm, asserting themselves on the finish. The overriding impression is of depth and substance, but this Malconsorts is clearly shutting down; those with the patience to cellar it for a decade or more will reap the rewards. Drink: 2025-2060. Copious red cherry and wild strawberry fruit lace with minerals, superb delineation and focus - this is a Malconsort that oozes confidence. The palate is medium-bodied but there is more density and volume here compared to previous vintages. The stem addition discretely interwoven with the fruit lending a light sous-bois note towards the sustained finish, and a tingle of spice on the aftertaste. Brilliant. A discreet application of wood serves as a relatively neutral backdrop for the cool, pure and ultra-spicy and floral aromas of dark currant, plum and soy. The tautly muscular, intense and impressively scaled big-bodied flavors drip with both dry extract and evident minerality on the robust and driving finish that is sneaky long. This is quite firmly structured and will require extended patience before it reaches it apogee though it should very much be worth the wait. I would add that the domaine believes the 2015 is the finest Malconsorts that they have made and I would agree with that assessment. Drink: 2030+. (Jan 2018)"

The bouquet is pure, vibrant and complex, soaring from the glass in a complex blend of raspberries, cherries, a touch of blood orange, duck, crystalline minerality, raw cocoa and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is very pure, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with great mineral drive, laser-like focus, fine-grained tannins and a stunning sense of weightlessness that is a joy to behold on the very, very long and vibrant finish. Larger-scaled and deeper than the Beaux Monts but at the same time showing outstanding sappy pungency and definition to its black raspberry and mineral flavors. Outstanding mineral-driven energy frames and extends the very long, slowly rising finish, which features chewy but fully ripe tannins. A splendid premier cru with grand cru volume and class.
