95 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The deeply-coloured Morey village is perfumed and ripe, with black plum fruit aromas and an edge of violets and earth. There is a slight hint of reduction, but this will pass. The texture is firm but not forbidding, with plenty of sweet fruit coming through on the gratifyingly long finish. The grapes come from an assortment of lieux-dits at the base of the premier cru slope, including Les Herbuottes, Les Porroux, Clos Solon, and Le Village. Most grapes were fermented as whole clusters, and the ageing continues in mainly used casks — lovely. Drinking Window: 2028-2055. (11/2/23)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Glowing purple. There is a fine weight of fruit, building steadily, lifting deep cherry notes, with an excellent texture, serge not silk, but it provides a fine backbone. I can see this ageing into a classic Dujac village Morey, always one of Burgundy’s great village wines. (Nov 2023)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Revealing aromas of dark plums and cherries mingled with baking spices and orange zest, the 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru is medium to full-bodied, supple and charming, with a velvety attack that segues into a rich core of fruit that's framed by powdery tannins and lively acids. As ever, it's the sleeper of the Dujac portfolio. (1/18/24)"

91-93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound) "(the blend is <70% Ruchots with the balance in Clos Sorbé, Millandes and Charrières, all of which totals .79 ha). Moderate reduction is enough to blur the nuances of what are clearly ripe fruit. On the plus side, there is more size, weight and power to the bigger-bodied flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the noticeably firmer and moderately rustic finale. Patience strongly advised. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru comes from three or four different lieux-dits that are vinified together. This is a significant step up from the Village Cru: much more depth and vigor, blackberry and wild hedgerow, bilberry and just a hint of black olive. The medium-bodied palate has quite firm tannins on the entry with mainly black fruit plus cracked black pepper and sage. There’s fine grip, and it is quite dense, but it conveys precision on the sustained finish. I can see 15 to 20 years of drinking pleasure, but it needs four or five years in bottle. Drink: 2028-2045. (Jan 2024)"

91-92 points/'Fine+,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The Morey 1er Cru can be a lovely wine; I still recall the magnificent (bad vintage) 1983 version – oh la la. The 2022 has delicate fruit that is nonetheless intense, with fine balance. It’s showing good acidity for the vintage, and is a joyful wine. Drink from 2034. (1/22/24)"
