95 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The vintage produced a wine with lushly ripe plum fruit touched with rose petals and spice. The texture retains surprising freshness despite the heat, and features firm tannins and a very classic feel. Truly top quality. Dujac enjoys a significant holding here, with 1.16ha between Latricières and Clos de la Roche - by far the largest in the appellation. Yield was down by almost 30% due to the heat in 2020, yet the result is marvellous. Drinking Window: 2025-2050. (Nov 2021)"

93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru has a captivating, quite mineral-driven bouquet with vibrant red fruit, just a touch of peony and iris petals. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins. This is quite a solid Gevrey-Chambertin, lightly spiced with a very saline, marine-influenced finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a gorgeous, expansive Gevrey-Chambertin Combottes. Drink: 2025-2048. (Dec 2021)"

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes is also very charming, mingling aromas of raspberries and plums with hints of blood orange, rose petals and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and velvety palate that's lively and perfumed. As usual, it will offer a broad drinking window. (Jan 2022)"

92-94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.16 ha parcel). Somewhat surprisingly the nose is quite reserved with its brooding array of various dark berries, violet, lavender and a whisper of herbal tea. The succulent and exceptionally rich, even opulent, flavors also coat the palate with an abundance of sap that does a quality job of buffering the markedly firm tannic spine shaping the beautifully persistent finale. This is more robust than usual but a wine that should repay extended cellaring. Drink: 2032+. (Jan 2022)"

93 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com) (2022).

92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2020 Combottes was also just assembled, but showing well. The black fruity nose wafts from the glass in a pure and precise mix of sweet dark berries, cassis, coffee bean, dark soil tones, woodsmoke, gamebird and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tangy, with a good core, fine soil signature and grip, ripe tannins and a long, suavely structured and complex finish. This too will be lovely juice in due course. 2033-2080. (Nov/Dec 2021)"
