93-95 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. This is an wonderful Echezeaux from Dujac. It has an engaging, very minerally nose with crushed stones, granite and limestone scents inflecting the dark cherry fruits, with subtle hints of apricot and wild honey. The palate is full-bodied, good weight and definition, pure dark fruits, citrus lemon and a touch of undergrowth towards the finish. Great length and sense of dimension. This is a top-level Echezeaux. Excellent. (3/30/10)"

94 points Fine Wine Review: "The Echézeaux has dark fruit with some animality and licorice and is nervy and firm in its medium-weight body. I’d expect 2018-2045 for prime drinking. (Issue #133; 2011)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from the climat Champs Traversin). An unusually high-toned nose of red berry fruit, earth and an intriguing mix of spice elements that include clove, anise plus a note of hoisin complements well the rich, full-bodied and velvety flavors that also have an inherent exoticism, all wrapped in a mouth coating, pure and focused finish that delivers both excellent length as well as a seductive mouth feel. I particularly like the underlying sense of tension. Drink: 2023+. (Jan 2011)"

93+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2008 Echézeaux is also a stellar and strikingly pure and soil-driven example of the vintage. The deep, black fruity and utterly refined nose offers up scents of cassis, dark berries, woodsmoke, a lovely base of soil, espresso and a touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very fine, with excellent mid-palate depth, silky tannins and great length and grip on the focused and nascently complex finish. A very classy Echézeaux this year. 2018-2050. (Nov/Dec 2009)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Moderately saturated medium red. Slightly reduced, wild aromas of strawberry and tobacco. Sweet and lush on the palate, with attractive lift and floral perfume to the wild berry and cherry flavors. Can't match the Malconsorts for thickness or sheer intensity, but this builds subtly in sweetness and finishes lush and long, with lovely lift. (Mar 2011)"

93 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "Dujac’s 2008 Echezeaux displays a cool, aloof flavor personality, featuring lightly-cooked yet somehow crisp-edged red fruits, high-toned herbs, and elusive suggestions of salt and peat. These traits are beautifully complimented by subtly soothing creaminess of texture and tannic tenderness for a very Dujac-typical performance. Ravishingly long and refined, this represents a sort of alter ego to the collection’s Malconsorts, yet possessed of its own vibrant inner-energy. Look for a dozen years’ pleasure and intrigue. (6/28/10)"
