97 points (18.5/20) La Revue du Vin de France (Oct 2013).

96 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2008 Clos St. Denis emerges from the glass with layers of fruit. This is an especially round, generous wine for the vintage. The Clos St. Denis has plenty of underlying structure to support the fruit and also allow for significant aging. The finish lingers on the palate for what seems like an eternity. The qualities of the vineyard as seen through the lens of the year come through loud and clear in this profound Burgundy. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2033. (May 2011)"

96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Clos Saint-Denis shows pure Clos Saint-Denis red fruits with Vosne-like velvetiness to the texture. A gorgeous wine. (Issue #133; 2011)"

94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2008 Clos St. Denis has rather emphatically closed down after bottling and will demand several years in the cellar before it really blossoms. However, the promise this wine showed out of barrel is still very much in evidence on both the nose and palate and only a bit of patience is required. The bouquet offers up a reserved blend of cherries, plums, blood orange, clove-like spices, complex soil tones and a touch of spicy wood. On the palate the wine is fullish, deep and very intensely flavored, lovely mid-palate depth, superb transparency, fine-grained tannins and very fine grip on the long, tangy and transparent finish. An utterly refined vintage of Dujac Clos St. Denis. 2016-2045. (Jan/Feb 2011)"

94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.48 ha parcel). A cool and elegant nose is quite pure with notes of warm earth, red currant and blue pinot fruit that merge seamlessly into sappy, naturally sweet and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding length and the exact creates a velvety mouth feel. This is a very distinguished '08 as it has both style and class. In a word, terrific. Drink: 2023+. (Jan 2011)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Medium red. Very pure, complex nose melds musky strawberry, cinnamon and a touch of oak. Taut and tightly wound, with brisk acidity contributing to the purity and high pitch of the red cherry, raspberry, floral and orange zest flavors. Shows a bit of a hard edge today, perhaps from the whole-cluster component, and will need time to harmonize its acids and its slightly drying tannins. (Mar/Apr 2011)"
