96 points Fine Wine Review: "Clos la Roche usually is my favorite wine of the estate, and 2001 is no exception. The wine is mineral and spicy in the nose with stony red fruits. In the mouth, it features pure red currant fruit that is deep, and an excellent balance of tannin and acidity -- one of the finest Clos la Roches you will find from Dujac, and that’s saying plenty. 2009-2030. (Issue #98; 2004)"

95 points Clive Coates, MW (Decanter): "Medium-full colour. A little fuller-bodied than their Clos Saint-Denis. Meatier. Slightly less sweet but more vigour and a better grip. Will last longer. Lovely. (Aug 2016)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Powerful and dense aromas of earth, black and red fruit plus subtle notes of soy, coffee and hoisin explode from the glass that merge seamlessly into bigger, richer, rounder and more muscular flavors. Authoritative, gorgeously textured and very stylish with pronounced tannic structure and plenty of buffering sap. Impressive and extremely long, this will require at least a decade of bottle age to reach maturity. (Jan 2004)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Healthy medium red. Musky wild raspberry, coffee and Cuban cigar tobacco on the nose and palate. Suave and velvety but with terrific energy and retention of red fruit flavor. The tobacco element is quite apparent in the mouth. Nicely integrated acidity and tannins accentuate the wine's smoothness and give it sex appeal. Jeremy Seysses noted that the estate did more destemming of the fruit in 2001 than in most vintages but that the whole-cluster element "rounded things off." Drink: 2017-2028. (Apr 2017)"

18.5/20 points Clive Coates (The World of Fine Wine): "Medium-full color. A little fuller bodied than their Clos St-Denis. Meatier. Slightly less sweet but more vigor and a better grip. Will last longer. Lovely. (Issue #34; 2011)"
