96 points Fine Wine Review: "The Bonnes-Mares has scented, spicy aromas. The mouth shows red and dark fruits, especially blackberry, with depth, firmness, liveliness, and length. (Issue #133; 2011)"

94-95 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The sulfur had just been adjusted on the Bonnes-Mares, so the wine was a bit more sullen than the last few wines in the lineup. The bouquet is very deep, very complex and still quite primary in its aromatic profile that includes notes of red and black cherries, raw cocoa, a great base of soil, woodsmoke and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite reserved, with a rock solid core of fruit, great transparency, ripe tannins and a long, tangy finish. This will also be excellent- no surprise here. 2018-2050. (Nov/Dec 2009)"

94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A cool, stony and reserved nose features spice, dark and red berry fruit, obvious earth and smoked game influences, all of which continue onto the intensely mineral-infused big-bodied flavors that for all the size and power remain beautifully detailed on the focused, powerful and moderately austere finish. This has wonderful potential and should be one of the longest-lived wines among the Dujac '08s. Drink: 2025+. (Jan 2011)"

94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good bright, dark red. Slightly reduced nose offers blackberry, huckleberry, mocha and pepper; quite dense and savory. Then sweet and thick in the mouth but with penetrating racy acidity framing the blackberry, menthol and licorice flavors. Quite closed in the middle for all its texture, but the slowly building, very subtle finish suggests that this will reward extended cellaring. Definitely a more glyceral Bonnes-Mares than the 2001 was, notes Seysses. (Mar/Apr 2011)"

94 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "Black tea, herbal essences, tar, dried blood, and concentration of tiny black raspberries are suggested on the nose and palate of Dujac’s 2008 Bonnes Mares. For all of its density, this exhibits invigorating primary juiciness, finishing with spirit-lifting, exuberant buoyancy and a nearly indelible paving of berry and herb essences, tar, graphite, and white pepper. This is a terrific ambassador for its vintage – I find it hard to imagine another year in which it could have been grown – and one that should perform admirably for another 12-15 years. Drink: 2010-2025. (Jun 2010)"

93 points Stephen Brook (The World of Fine Wine): "The nose is wonderfully refined and ethereal, perfumed and delicate, showing subtle oak. Medium-bodied, this is in a linear style, with fine acidity, and freshness, charm, and nervosité. Yet it doesn't lack weight and succulence, and there are finely tuned tannins on the long finish. (Issue 59; 2018)"
