95 points Jane Anson (Decanter): "I remember how delicious this was at en primeur, and it remains a stately, elongated, perfectly poised Pauillac. It's austere, certainly, but is also full of rich fruit pared down by a slate texture, the sense of minerality scraping along the palate as you approach the blackcurrant leaf and tobacco finish. It's excellent quality, and clearly a vintage that suits the personality of Duhart - juicy but restrained. Matured in 50% new oak. Drinking Window: 2024-2040. (10/7/18)"

95 points James Suckling: "Enticing aromas of crushed berries, blackcurrants, sweet tobacco, hot stones and licorice follow through to a full body, chewy and dusty tannins and a long, flavorful finish. A juicy and savory young 2016. Try after 2024. (1/17/19)"

95 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "The blend here is 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot, while the élevage was in 50% new oak, for 14 months, and it was bottled in April 2018. The nose is dark and brooding, but it also transmits the definition and freshness of the vintage. The fruit is redolent of a dark plum cream, with notes of toasted oak. A very elegant start to the palate, with a tension and frame that fits the vintage, as well as a rich and supple central seam of toasted cherry and currant fruits. The finish is gripped with charcoal and toasted oak, while the tannins circle beneath, tightly knit and correct, with an almost velvety surface, giving just a fine grip to the finish. This is a top class Duhart-Milon. (Dec 2018)"

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Ranking with the finest vintages of this wine to date, the 2016 Château Duhart Milon shows how successful the Médoc was in 2016. About as pure class as it gets, with full-bodied notes of red and black currants, tobacco leaf, graphite, and leafy herbs, this beauty hits the palate with sweet tannins, a stacked mid-palate, and a layered, deep, powerful texture. It’s about as sexy as Pauillac can be and has 2-3 decades ahead of it. Drink: 2019-2049. (2/28/19)"

94 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "The black raspberries, tobacco leaf and floral notes stand out here. The wine is refined, medium bodied, fresh, elegant and lush, ending with sweet, juicy, ripe dark cherries. The wine was made from a blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. Give this 5-8 years of time before popping a cork and enjoy it for the next 20 years after that. (Sep 2019)"

94 points Peter Moser (Falstaff): "Dark ruby, opaque core, light brightening on the rim. Ripe black berry fruit, cherries and cranberries, a hint of spices, candied orange zest on the nose. Juicy with good complexity, textured, echoes of blackberries and oranges, firm, supporting tannins and subtle nougat notes on the palate. Unquestionable age potential. (5/24/17)"
