98 points (19/20) La Revue du Vin de France: "The Mazoyeres ranges from noble vegetal notes to floral ones, with refined and nuanced fruit. It offers a more refined texture than the Charmes-Chambertin, with a concentrated and delicate palate. There is a splendid liveliness in the fruit with a very tight mid-palate. (2016)"

94-96 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2013 Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru, which includes about 80% whole-bunch fruit, has a very expressive and well-defined bouquet, with mineral-rich black and red fruit that are very focused. The palate has more delineation than the Charmes-Chambertin, fine structure with a linear and focused finish. This is one of my favorites from the domaine this year - more ebullient and tense than many of its peers. Drink: 2020-2040. (Dec 2014)"

93-95 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(the 34-year-old vines used for thiscuvée are just 25 meters away from those that go into Dugat's Charmes; 90% vendange entier): Dark red with ruby highlights. Compelling spicy perfume to the aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, violet and fresh blood. Lush and thick on the attack, then bright but utterly seamless in the middle palate, with lovely purity to its dark fruit flavors. Really explodes on the back end, saturating the entire palate with flavor and totally burying the ripe tannins. There's nothing rustic about this outstanding, powerful Mazoyères. Drink: 2026-2040. (Mar 2016)"

92-95 points/'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .25 ha parcel and vinified with <90% stems). This is also brooding to the point of being almost inexpressive and it is only with aggressive swirling that reluctant aromas of pungent earth, spice, floral, dark currant and mocha notes emerge. This is a seriously powerful and concentrated Maz with its muscular big-bodied flavors that also possess a hugely long finish on the almost painfully intense finale. This is terrific and should amply reward longer-term cellaring and note too that it's going to need it as this is very structured though not hard or tough. Drink: 2030+. (Jan 2015)"
