97 points/'Le Coup de Coeur,' La Revue du Vin de France: "A more spicy nose, dominated by redcurrant in the superb Lavaux Saint-Jacques, slender and smooth, finely crafted, radiating freshness. With its millimeter-thin tannins, this is a brilliant, harmonious wine that is already a pleasure to drink thanks to its elegant, delicious fruit, but which has decades ahead of it. (2021)"

97 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "In the right vintages (and the right hands), Lavaux-St-Jacques can produce wines that are every bit as good as some Gevrey-Chambertin Grands Crus. Made with fruit from two 50-year-old parcels, this faces due south but retains freshness because of its location in the Combe de Lavaux. Balanced, racy and detailed, with subtle wood, some aromatic spices from 75% whole bunches and fine, crunchy red berry fruit. Drinking Window: 2022-2030. (10/20/19)"

95+ points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Much as it was from barrel, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques is immensely promising, mingling aromas of wild berries and cassis with hints of smoked meats, spices, rose petals and black truffles in an incipiently complex bouquet. Deep, full-bodied and multidimensional, it's layered and concentrated, with lively acids, immense concentration and a long, penetrating finish. Built to age, it will demand patience. Drink: 2030-2065. (Jan 2021)"

94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(vinified with 70% stems). A slightly riper and overtly floral nose combines notes of red currant and red raspberry liqueur with those of sauvage, forest floor and freshly turned earth. The palate impression of the moderately big-bodied flavors is again super-sleek thanks to the relatively fine grain of the supporting tannins that shape the firm, austere and powerful finish. This outstanding LSJ is one to buy and basically forget you own it for at least a decade. Excellent. Drink: 2038+. (Jan 2021)"

92-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Black with a purple rim. A plump nose full of really ripe fruit aromatics but still showing some freshness. The fruit fills the mouth with ripe red cherries before the typical crystalline finish from this site with tannin and acidity nicely intertwined. (Nov 2019)"
