93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Champeaux 1er Cru saw 50% whole bunch with two-thirds new oak. It has a subtle, cerebral bouquet featuring gorgeous black fruit mixed with sea spray, cockle sheds and graphite aromas; this is very classy. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very intense and energetic, leading to a sorbet-fresh, blood-orange-infused finish that has a lot of potential. Cellar this Champeaux for five or six years if you can, because it has ambition. Drink: 2025-2050. (Dec 2020)"
94 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .33 ha of 50+ year old vines that abut Cazetiers; 60% stems). A much different, and much earthier and more sauvage-inflected nose, grudgingly reveals ripe aromas of both red and dark berries, plum liqueur and a whiff of oak. Here too there is a relatively fine mouthfeel to the gorgeously textured medium-bodied flavors that exude ample minerality on the firm, serious and youthfully austere finale that just goes on and on. This is superb. Drink: 2031+. (Jan 2022)"
93 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "Open and charming, the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux wafts from the glass with notions of sweet berry fruit, cherries, orange rind, rose petals and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, ample and velvety, with a broad attack and a deep, layered mid-palate that's framed by beautifully ripe, powdery tannins, it's remarkably seamless despite its young age. Drink: 2025-2055. (Jan 2022)"
