The very pretty nose is spicier still with its cool and broad-ranging panoply of aromas that include red cherry, violet and just a hint of earth. There is very fine volume to the refined, intense and gorgeously textured flavors that possess excellent depth and flat-out superb persistence. This is a Griotte of finesse but make no mistake, it has the underlying material and balance to age for years. A knockout. Drink: 2034+. (Jan 2024)"

A gentle tannic tug clings to the compact and rounded mid-palate. The oak is often more noticeable here, but there is so much supple fruit this vintage that it feels very subtle and artfully integrated. (2024)"

93-95 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru has a surprisingly austere nose that, despite rigorous coaxing, stubbornly refuses to come out and play (unlike its fellow pair of Grand Crus.) The palate is medium-bodied with quite a firm structure and a dash of black pepper. It’s quite a solid Griotte-Chambertin. Perhaps I am being more seduced by the suave Charmes-Chambertin this year, whereas the Griotte, at least on the day of my visit, is a bit standoffish. Two and a half barrels this year.
