95 points Christy Canterbury, MW (Tim Atkin): "This was entirely destemmed, but its nose is graciously giving and complex. Black currants, sloe and fleshy plums mesh with forest floor and fireplace embers. The chewy, muscular palate feels sturdy on its own, but its power feels amplified by the racy and strapping tannins. (Jan 2024)"

92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "No stems here, a reflection of the style of the vineyard rather than a vintage choice. Old vines with millerandage. A much denser purple colour and a much more intense flamboyant yet cool red fruit on the nose. Beautifully structured, with an engagingly long finish. Very well done, given that Lavaux was really in the path of the June storm. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Nov 2023."

93 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "This dynamic wine boasts forward, perfumed aromas of mulberry and mint with a hint of smoke and spice. The texture is tannic and noticeably fresh, and the acidity and the firm tannins drive the wine to a rewarding finish. This wine should open within three to five years of release and will age at least five – 10 years after that. It is produced from the domaine's 0.30-hectare block at the mouth of the combe. The carefully sorted fruit is completely destemmed before fermentation. Drinking window 2030-2065 (May 2023)"

(90-93) points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut Saint-Jacques is pure and perfumed, offering up aromas of plums, red berries, orange zest and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively and succulent palate framed by sweet, supple tannins. This will offer a broad drinking window. (Jan 2024)"

(90-92) points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Prieur 1er Cru, blended with 30% whole bunches, has a slightly backward bouquet with scents of potpourri infusing the red fruit, perhaps needing a little more mineralité to come through. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry, hints of licorice developing towards the finish that will hopefully develop a little more nervosité during the remaining élevage. Drink 2026-2040 (Jan 2024)"

88-91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "from a .3 ha parcel of vines planted in 1943. Decidedly ripe liqueur-like aromas of black raspberry, earth and the sauvage lead to unusually supple and caressing if not especially dense, flavors that conclude in a dusty and slightly attenuated finish. I don't know whether the hail had an effect, but this does not appear to be at its usual excellent level. To be sure, this is perfectly good, just not distinguished. Drink 2029+ (Jan 2024)"
