98 points James Suckling: "The near-perfect nature to the nose suggests superb chardonnay. There’s a golden hue to the ripeness of the fruit, offering apple tart and fresh apples, together with undertones of stones, light vanilla and almonds. Medium-bodied with elegance and length, delivering energy and focus and subtle complexity. Hazelnuts and minerals at the end. Drink or hold. (5/26/25)"
95-97 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Glowing mid lemon. The nose is quite restrained. The majesty of the Montrachet builds slowly on the palate with a fine thread of acidity to keep the intensity of fruit in place. All in white fruit, much less exotic, not yet really showing all its paces, so expect much more from this later on in its life. The length shows that it will happen. (Nov 2024)"
96 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Almost impossibly lush, with pronounced aromas of ripe melons and passionfruit, accented with notes of acacia flowers and butter. Despite the concentration of fruit aromas, the texture remains elegant and balanced. The grapes are from an enormous holding at the northern end of Montrachet, pressed as whole clusters and aged over two winters in cask (30% new); this was tasted out of a three-year-old cask. To judge from recent experience, it is best to leave this 20 years before opening, if one can wait. Drinking Window: 2045-2100. (10/30/24)"
96 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): "Toasted buttermilk biscuits, Brazil nuts and marzipan harmonize on the nose. The palate delivers a cornucopia of sweet yellow fruits: plums, apples, starfruit and cherimoya. While the flavor complexity borders on boisterous, the zen-like harmony of the structure feels gentle and even careful. Fresh, buoyant acidity nicely balances the ample, curvaceous palate feel. Time will deliver a heady treat from this bottling. (2025)"
94-96 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Montrachet Grand Cru is, as usual, a blend of five parcels that undergo three separate pickings. This is contained on the nose at first. It doesn't really want to come out and play before it gradually unfurls with orange zest, pear drop and citrus fruit hints. The palate is very well balanced with great depth. It's a little spicier with more extract than some of its peers, lingering long on the smoky finish. This will need time. Drinking Window: 2030-2055. (Jan 2025)"
93-96 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2023 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche Grand Cru is a rich, lavish wine, bursting with aromas of honeyed pears, toasted nuts, baking spices, orange oil and white flowers. Full-bodied, broad and layered, it's satiny and seamless, with a deep core of fruit and a long, sapid finish. (Jan 2025)"
92-95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 2.06 ha parcel on the Puligny side). Montrachet: (from a .35 ha parcel on the Puligny side that sits directly above the parcel of Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet). A more floral-suffused nose is decidedly restrained and requires aggressive swirling to coax the aromas of acacia and lilac, essence of pear and an admirably discreet application of oak. The sleek, intense, powerful and impressively scaled flavors brim with sappy dry extract that buffers the firm acid spine shaping the precise and wonderfully long, bone-dry and well-balanced finale. As is usually the case at this early stage, this is exceptionally compact but not so much so that it couldn't be approached after 'only' 7 to 8 years. Drink: 2033+. (Jun 2025)"
