96 points Jim Gordon (JamesSuckling.com): "A very svelte, silky pinot noir that glides onto the palate with ripe cherries, cooked plums and a reserve of tangy, sour cherries that keep it lively and well balanced. One of Drouhin’s super-consistent bottlings year in and year out, and this is an excellent year. Drink now or hold. (6/20/24)"

94 points Christy Canterbury, MW (TimAtkin.com): " Always as intricate as a piece of fine lace, this Clos des Mouches starts with dried cranberries, rose petals, blueberry compote and a hint of underbrush. Fine-boned tannins and vivacious acidity keep the finish going and going. Like the white version, these vines average 35 years in age, but Véronique's grandfather, Maurice, originally began planting vines here in the 1920s (2024)"

94 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2025).

92-94 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches (Domaine) is shaping up beautifully, revealing aromas of sweet cherries, cassis, licorice and spices deftly framed by toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, succulent acids and powdery tannins, the Drouhin's own fully 14 hectares of this prime premier cru, which is divided equally between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. (1/18/24)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Beaune Rouge Clos des Mouches 1er Cru, picked from August 27 to September 5, is more high-toned on the nose compared to Les Cras, offering a mixture of red and blueberry fruit, the 25% whole clusters imparting subtle white pepper and bay leaf notes. The medium-bodied palate has supple tannins and fine acidity, quite dense in the mouth with gentle grip, and hints of black olive towards the finish. Give this Clos des Mouches three or four years in bottle. Drink: 2026-2038. (Jan 2024)"

91-94 points/'Sweet spot/Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here the expressive nose is more floral in character with its elegant aromas of black raspberry, rose petal, violet, lilac and anise. The medium-bodied flavors possess a gorgeous texture thanks to the abundant dry extract that also buffers the very firm tannic spine shaping the longer if less mineral-driven finish. This is also quite lovely and in particular for the sense of harmony that is Zen-like. Absolutely worth considering. Drink: 2034+. (Apr 2024)"

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "Wider, fresher, more peppery red fruit. Fuller, rounder but with a very different – more direct – style of structure. Hmm, the finish so broad and mouth-watering – there’s lots of finishing concentration here. (1/10/24)"
