The bouquet offers up a nascently complex constellation of grapefruit, tart orange, petrol, wild yeasts, lemongrass, lovely minerality, dried flowers and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and bottomless at the core, with racy acids, excellent focus and grip, impeccable balance and a serious load of backend energy on the very long finish. 2023-2060. The wine is nicely fresh and direct on the palate and leaves a clean and delicately focused feel in the long and silky finish. This does not cry out loud nor is it not loaded with grip and minerals and other “goodies” as modern young GG often are. But it makes more than up for this with elegance and utter drinking pleasure.
