100 points Pierre Rovani (Wine Advocate): "The 2002 Riesling Eiswein Oberhauser Brucke is a grand slam home run for Donnhoff. It is so intense, so powerful, and so complex as to instill fear in the taster. Its apricot and peach cobbler aromas lead to a jellied core of cassis, raspberries, syrupy slate, and oodles of spices. It is simply amazing that a wine of this richness, ripeness, and depth can retain perfect definition, grip, and refinement. What is truly terrifying, however, is that Donnhoff produced a three-star Eiswein from the same vineyard in 2002, one he presumably considers better than this sublime nectar. Part of me is grateful that I was unable to taste it, however, as I have only 100 points with which to work. Bravo! Projected maturity: 2015-2040+. (Feb 2004)"

100 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "In 2002 there are three distinct Brücke Eisweins from which to choose from (each made separately from the day’s pickings), and this is the wine made from the second day’s passage through the vineyard. It is an utterly remarkable bottle of Eiswein, as it soars from the glass in a blazing mélange of apricot, apple pie, cinnamon-like spice tones, layers of kaleidoscopic minerality, distinct scents of lilac and incipient notes of new leather. On the palate the wine is fullish, pure and utterly transparent, with great focus and depth, a rock solid core, an almost surreal textural blend of sweetness and blazing acidity, and tremendous length and grip on the complex and endless finish. This is sheer perfection, and I cannot imagine a better glass of Eiswein (though perhaps one as good- see below). (2nd Picking) 2006-2030. (Jul/Aug 2006)"

100 points Mosel Fine Wines: "AP: 18 03. This AP 18 was one of three Eiswein produced by Helmut Dönnhoff in 2002 and the better of the two non-auction ones (it was also referred internally at the Estate as ‘Dienstag’, as it was harvested on a Tuesday morning). Golden in color, this is just so sublime and a model of finesse and elegance. Tons of juicy flavors burst out of the glass, ranging from fresh garden fruits to exotic fruit sorbet. A serious touch of acidity hits one on the palate and yet this comes over as completely in harmony and the right counterweight to great intense concentrated flavors of fruits. The finish is sweet and, at the same time, remarkably zesty. The overall sense of freshness and inner balance is simply breathtaking. This is textbook stuff. (Apr 2012)"
