96 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate): "The 2015 Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese is lovely, clear and flinty on the nose and, like the Spätlese, is characterized by its noble aristocracy, but also lemony freshness and great purity. There seems to be more crushed stones than grapes in this wine, which reflects a lot of the fastidious selection and the healthy condition of the processed grapes. On the palate, this is a generous and concentrated, but pure, piquant and buoyant Auslese of great expression and finesse. This vibrating wine is dancing over the palate, leaving loads of minerals and salts, which makes this a dangerous drug. The finish is piquant and salty -- you simply can't stop drinking and adoring it. There is so much grip, tension and finesse here. Drink: 2025-2050." (Dec 2013)

96 points International Wine Report: "The 2015 Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel is an utterly captivating wine in this vintage. Hermannshöhle is considered to be one of the most prestigious sites in the Nahe and this wine is a testament to the level of quality which can come from this site. The soils comprised of mostly black slate mixed with extrusive igneous rock, porphyry and limestone, and these intense mineral components certainly reflect in the wine, as they are woven together with bright citrus notes, granny smith apple, floral, ginseng and saline notes all coming together in the glass. This displays remarkable balance and precision with striking purity and beautiful ripe fruit framed by vibrant acidity that leaves your mouth watering. This is without a doubt one of the most impressive young wines I have tasted from this vintage, and while this is simply irresistible now, I expect it to age gracefully for decades to come. 94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2015 Hermannshöhle Goldkapsel Auslese is also a stunning wine in the making, but at least at this early stage, it does not seem to have quite the same completeness of its Brücke counterpart. The bouquet is pure, refined and very vibrant in its blend of apple, white cherry, citrus zest, white flowers and beautiful minerality. On the palate the wine is pure, fullish, racy and very classy in profile, with a fine core, exceptional complexity in the making, racy acids and laser-like focus on the long, refined and classic finish.
