94 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "The exuberant 2022 Cent Vignes from David Croix has a deep ruby colour and an intensely ripe mulberry and blueberry fruit with hints of violets and earth. The texture is silky and supple, yet there is enough tannic grip to back up all the lush fruit. The wine is partly destemmed and fermented slowly with a careful extraction to deliver this approachable, moreish result. The wine should open nicely in three to five years and drink for a further 20. Drinking Window: 2027-2055. (11/2/23)"

91-93 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2022 Beaune Les Cents Vignes 1er Cru seems to be 100% whole bunches, but no, it's not - there's just 40% stems here. Croix believes this is because of the high pH at 3.94. Rose bush and damp loam soil. The medium-bodied palate sports some of the darkest fruit in the range, a stony character taking over towards the finish. Not a punter's Beaune, one of the diehard lovers of a classical style of Pinot Noir. Drink: 2026-2044. (Jan 2024)"

90-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A perfumed and quite floral nose freely offers up it aromas of the essence of re cherry, currant and a whiff of spice nuances. The lacy and much more finely textured middleweight flavors possess an almost delicate mouthfeel that tightens up somewhat on the dusty, balanced and sneaky long finale. This is lovely and pretty much textbook Cents Vignes. Drink: 2029+. (Apr 2024)"

90-92 points William Kelley (Wine Advocate): "The 2022 Beaune 1er Cru Les Cents Vignes bursts with aromas of plummy fruit, sweet spices and crushed mint, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample and charming palate that's melting and saline. This alluvial terroir can suffer in dry vintages, but it always produces very accessible wines. (Jan 2024)"

90-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Racked last week into concrete tank. Dense concentrated crimson red. Punchy fruit, almost plummy, very juicy on the palate, all in rich red fruit, a touch floral. Some liquorice behind. Quite a luxurious style of Beaune with very light tannins, kept fresh by 50% whole bunches. (Oct 2023)"

91.3 points CellarTracker.com community score.

Bill Nanson (Burgundy Report): "The same style of aromatic as the Savigny but with a little more fruit to cut the aromas. Incisive, fluid, mobile – hyper-complex, delicious wine – also a lot of florals but just a hint more balanced with the fruit today – and of course you should wait! Extra length too! (1/10/24)"
