92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru comes from the parcel that Amélie Berthaut was farming and was matured in 40% new oak. This has a delightful, beautifully defined bouquet with brambly red fruit, crushed stone and violet scents that blossom with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins. A touch of orange peel infuses the dark cherry fruit with a crackle of black pepper on the finish. This has a lot of potential. Drink: 2027-2045. (Jan 2025)"
91-94 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Dense purple, not quite so opaque as the village Gevrey. While there is a major intensity of dark berry fruit, this first vintage of Cazetiers of the new regime still needs to grow into itself. There is still more black fruit at the back, but with a mineral thread to retain an element of freshness. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted Nov 2024."
93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Charles’ parcels of vines in les Cazetiers are fully ninety years of age and this plot produced five casks of wine in 2023. The wine was raised in forty percent new oak in this vintage and delivers a fine, very promising bouquet of cassis, grilled meats, espresso, black minerality, a nice touch of mustard seed and a judicious framing of cedary new oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, precise and shows off lovely depth of sappy black fruit at the core, with great mineral drive, fine-grained tannins and impeccable balance on the long, bright and nascently complex finish. 2037-2085. (Jan/Feb 2025)"
93 points/'Very Fine,' Steen Öhman (Winehog): "The 2023 Cazetiers is more up to full speed. Quite intense … lovely energetic fruit with a very sensual mid-palate. I do understand why Amélie Berthaut was sad to lose this beautiful vineyard. Such a lovely fruit and complexity. Drink from 2035. (2/11/25)"
91-93 points/'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here too the more layered nose is fresh, cool and restrained with notably spicier aromas of wild dark currant and forest floor. There is good size and weight if only average density to the solidly powerful and mineral-driven flavors that also deliver excellent length on the moderately austere, firm and compact finale. This is potentially excellent and a wine that should age effortlessly on its balance. Drink: 2035+. (Jan 2025)"
