96 points James Suckling: "Sweet-berry, smoke and black-cherry aromas follow through to a medium to full body with fine tannins that are beautifully integrated and melt into the body of the wine. Rather savory. Delicious cherries and berries at the end. 97% merlot and 3% cabernet franc. Drink after 2026. (2/7/22)"

95 points Jeff Leve (The Wine Cellar Insider): "Not quite as opulent or as concentrated as it was in barrel, but there is still a lot to love here. Rich, dark, deep, black plums and chocolate, with a side of licorice, truffle, flowers and espresso, the wine is fresh, polished, silky and sensuous. For a Pomerol at this level of quality, the wine sells for a song. Drink from 2024-2042. (Mar 2022)"

93-95 points Chris Kissack (Winedoctor): "From a well-positioned property, surrounded by Rouget, Le Gay and L’Église-Clinet. A glossy and near-opaque hue in the glass, with a little touch of saturation to it. Rich and expressive on the nose, comfortably within the spectrum for the vintage, with notes of dusty black cherry and black plum. A lovely presence on the palate, supple and even a little silky, correct, with a well-hidden wrapping of nicely integrated tannins, with vivacious acidity and the saline tension of the vintage. Savoury, with little threads of black bean, earthy vanilla pod and dark chocolate, and full of grippy tannic vigour in the finish. Well done. (Jun 2020)"

92-94+ points Jeb Dunnuck: "A small estate managed by Philippe Casteja and located not far from Château Clinet and L'Eglise Clinet, the 2019 Château Du Domaine De L'Eglise boasts a deep purple hue as well as sumptuous notes of black cherries, jammy blackberry, leafy herbs, chocolate, and damp earth. It's rich and full-bodied, with wonderful fruit and a great finish. Almost all Merlot (there's a splash of Cabernet Franc), this beauty will benefit from just short-term cellaring and keep for 15 years or more. Drink: 2021-2036. (6/11/20)"

92-94 points Wine Enthusiast: "From one of the oldest vineyards in Pomerol, this is a luscious wine with ripe, firm tannins and a dense structure. Dominated by Merlot, it shows great potential for aging. "

93 points Jane Anson (Decanter): " Rich purple colour medium to full intensity. Concentrated fruit on the attack also, this is clearly going to need longer to come around than Castéja's other Pomerol wine La Croix du Casse, and should be given at least six to eight years before really seeing these tannins soften and the brambled fruit reach is full potential. Coffee bean and brownie flavours fill out the mid palate and overall this is a powerful, tightly controlled wine with great potential. Drinking Window: 2026-2040. (5/3/20)"
