98 points Tyson Stelzer (The Champagne Guide): "(tasted in 2022 in France; 65% pinot noir from Aÿ first, then Verzenay, Bouzy and Ambonnay; 30% chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Avize, 5% meunier). The finest vintages of William Deutz display profound contrasts and contradictions, juxtaposing the exacting precision of the house with the intensity of pinot noir, and it is in the most energetic vintages that this accord finds its most alluring expression. In this, 2008 was the spectacular exemplar, and no other has been its equal - until 2013. The elegance of this sublime season sits magnificently in the ethereal style of Deutz, and the result is breathtakingly refined, desperately pure and exactingly pristine. The expression of pinpoint-accurate pinot noir is breathtaking, speaking with the magnificent precision of Aÿ in pristine red fruits and pronounced chalk minerality. A magnificent and pure expression of pinot noir. (Edition VII; 2024)"

96 points James Suckling: "Discreet and nuanced nose, showing lemon-curd, brioche and pie-crust notes. A hint of savory umami, too. Beautiful integration of autolysis with the fruit. Subtle and creamy, with a really fine, nicely woven perlage that is closely knit with the zesty citrus fruit. Elegant, chalky and long, with a gentle and mouthwatering finish. There is power even it is more about finesse and elegance here. Drink now or hold. (9/6/22)"

95 points Falstaff Guide: "Medium golden yellow, delicate mousseux. A hint of cookie and honey underpinned by an abundance of stone fruit and citrus fruit, notes of orange blossom. Complex, full-bodied, ripe yellow fruit, white nougat, carried by the fresh acidity of the vintage, remains very persistent, shows length, ginger nuances in the finish, a juicy food companion with further potential. (10/6/23)"

95 points Bettane & Desseauve Guide (2023).

94 points La Revue du Vin de France: "We enjoyed the 2013 William Deutz brut, a beautiful definition of the tension of this late vintage... (2023)"

94 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$200/750ml list] A mature Champagne that has fine, ripe white fruits set against a mineral edge. The wine's lightly toasty character is now integrated with the fruit. It is ready to drink. (Dec 2023)"
