97 points Charles Curtis, MW (Decanter): "Powerful dark plum and cassis fruit, with impressive structure and power. Despite the stuffing, this wine never loses sight of its elegance. Bravo! Domaine d’Eugénie is the current proprietor of this parcel which was once owned by Domaine René Engel. It is a 1.34ha plot that averages 60-70 years of age even with some interplanting; the youngest vines are all declassified. The parcel is not far from the Mugneret-Gibourg vines, but the style is very different. 70% whole-cluster. Drinking Window: 2025-2060. (10/11/21)"

92-95 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a 1.37 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines situated close to the Château; 60% whole clusters). There is a hint of bitter chocolate to the ripe aromas of plum, wild red berries, warm earth and whiffs of violet and anise. Once again there is excellent volume to the bright and vivacious big-bodied flavors that possess fine mid-palate density on the silky but punchy, lingering and impeccably well-balanced finish that is supported by even firmer tannins. Lovely. Drink: 2035+. (1/10/22)"
