96 points/'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$99 list] Prominent veins of crushed granite and tar shadow rich, decadent flavors of black-currant jam and licorice in this 100% Syrah sourced from three different sites within Hermitage (including the estate's flagship Les Bessards). While tannins are ripe, it's a charry, piquantly spiced wine in youth that finishes on peppery hits of clove, dark chocolate and espresso shavings. It's best to wait till 2023 to open but the wine should improve through 2035 at least. Alcohol 15%. (May 2021)"

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Certainly not far behind the Les Bessards, the 2018 Hermitage Domaine Des Tourettes sports a dense purple/ruby color to go with thrilling notes of blackcurrants, scorched earth, graphite, peppered meat, and violets. Full-bodied richness, a seamless, elegant texture, great tannins, and serious length all characterize this young yet incredibly promising Hermitage. Hide bottles for at least 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades. Drink: 2024-2045. (11/19/20)"

94 points Wine Spectator: "[$99 list] A seductive wine with beautifully rendered blackberry, plum and raspberry compote notes carried by very fine-grained yet persistent tannins that let the fruit play out, while hints of singed alder, warm earth and melted black licorice fill in on the finish. Best from 2022 through 2032. (2/28/21)"

94 points James Suckling: "An excellent introduction to the wines of Hermitage, this has a deep and complex, savory nose with plenty of spicy notes and a whiff of summer rain falling on hot, dry earth. Very full, the considerable richness wrapped around a massive tannin structure, enabling the wine to effortlessly master the 15% alcohol. Full and creamy, yet decisively dry finish. Drink or hold. (3/14/22)"

93 points Joe Czerwinski (Wine Advocate): "Relatively open and generous, the 2018 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes blends notes of red plums and cassis, then adds flourishes of pencil shavings and crushed stone. It's full-bodied and velvety, still a bit tannic and young but nearly drinkable already, with a lingering, licorice-tinged finish. Drink: 2023-2035. (5/13/21)"

93 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): "Deep, glistening ruby. Expressive cherry and dark berry scents are complicated by suggestions of licorice, cracked pepper and botanical herbs. Penetrating kirsch and blackberry flavors pick up hints of bitter chocolate and candied flowers with air; a spine of juicy acidity adds back-end lift. Fleshy and fruit-driven, with even tannins building on the long, sweet finish. Drink: 2025-2034. (Dec 2022)"
