94 points Fine Wine Review: "The Volnay-Taillepieds is intense, pure, and nervy with none of the fatness or creaminess that are prevalent in the vintage. (Issue #137; 2013)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% stems). A restrained yet perfumed nose is the essence of wet stone and ripe pinot, all trimmed in dried floral notes. Like the Mitans, this is also positively crystalline as the flavors seem to be composed from liquid rock and deliver positively huge length along with the hallmark finishing austerity of a young Taillepieds. A highly impressive effort of impeccable balance. Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding. Drink: 2021+. (May 2011)"

It shows fabulous textural richness in its dark red fruit, not to mention a highly engaging personality. This is a very complete and promising wine, but it needs time.
