93 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "One of the outstanding village Pommards of the vintage, this comes from deep clay soils at the bottom of the slope below Les Rugiens-Bas. It's quite a backward wine, partly because it didn't finish its malolactic until August 2019, but also because it has some added structure from 30% whole clusters. Bloody, ferrous and grippy with dark bramble and black cherry fruit. Drinking Window: 2022-2028. (10/18/19)"

90-92 points Fine Wine Review: "Round, fleshy, exuberant red cherry and cranberry fruit, some; tannins kick in at end. Very old vines. (Directly below Rugiens, primarily clay soils, some iron.) 1/3 whole clusters. Very late malos — August-September. 25% new oak. (11/22/19)"

89-92 points Jasper Morris, MW (Inside Burgundy): "Not yet racked, one third whole cluster, and the malolactic fermentation has only just finished so there is a bit of carbon dioxide in the sample and the bouquet is reductive. It is very dense purple in colour and super-saturated in fruit terms though, so I think this is going to be very exciting for village Pommard. Good acidity remains. (Oct 2019)"
